Veteran Housing, Severance Questions, & Police Accountability

August 11, 2026

During public comments at the August 11, 2026, Federal Way City Council meeting, I raised concerns about accountability, transparency, and how our community treats people who depend on public institutions.

I provided an update on the William J. Wood Veterans House, including concerns about whether veterans are receiving the furnishings and services they were promised. I also asked questions about a reported severance agreement involving a former city employee and whether public funds were paid after that employee’s departure.

Finally, I addressed the city’s handling of serious misconduct by a former Federal Way police officer. Our residents—and the honorable officers who serve our community—deserve to know that misconduct will be addressed openly and taken seriously.

These are difficult issues, but responsible government requires us to ask direct questions, verify the facts, and demand accountability.
